MORNING TOUR
08:30 AM – 09:30 AM: Breakfast at El Chinito.
Start with a classic chicharrón (crispy pork) sandwich accompanied by fried sweet potato and Creole sauce at the legendary Sanguchería El Chinito downtown.
09:45 AM – 11:00 AM: Central Market of Lima.
Walk through the colorful aisles. Stop at the juice stands to sample exotic fruits that you will only find in Peru, such as lucuma, custard apple, or granadilla.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Chinatown (Capón Street).
It is on the side of the market. Try a “bocadito chino” (dim sum) or a traditional sweet like min pao at the street bars. Chinese-Peruvian fusion cuisine (Chifa) was born here.
AFTERNOON TOUR
12:30 PM – 02:30 PM: Seafood lunch in Miraflores.
Take a taxi to the south of the city. Enjoy fresh ceviche and causa limeña at Gastón Acurio’s famous La Mar cevicheria or in the freshness of Punto Azul.
02:45 PM – 04:00 PM: Pisco Sour Workshop.
Many tourist venues on the Malecón allow you to prepare your own Pisco Sour, Peru’s flagship drink made from grapes.
04:15 PM – 05:30 PM: Creole Dessert at the Convent of San Francisco.
Back downtown or in traditional candy stores in Miraflores, look for churros stuffed with manjarblanco or some very hot picarones (sweet potato and pumpkin donuts bathed in chancaca honey)
